February 18: Four killed in Karachi sectarian attacks

Four men, including three activists of the Sunni religious group Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, were targeted in two suspected sectarian attacks. Assailants on a motorcycle shot at the people coming out from Subhani Masjid and rode away. Five men were wounded, and three of them died of their wounds. Violence erupted in the locality after the incident as enraged people took to streets, pelting vehicles with stones and setting fire to three motorcycles in the parking lot of the Aaj TV office.
In a separate incident, an ASWJ activist was gunned down in Surjani Town. Armed motorcyclists targeted Haji Fayyaz Soomro, 50, and fled. The victim died before he could be taken to hospital. Dawn
February 18: Shia doctor and son killed in Lahore
In an apparent sectarian attack, a Shia doctor and his 12-year-old son was shot dead by unidentified men in Lahore. Prof Dr Syed Ali Haider, Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Lahore General Hospital, died on the spot, while his son, Murtaza, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. February 20: Spiritual leader's grandson killed in Jacobabad sectarian attack
The grandson of spiritual leader and custodian of Dargah Hussain Abad Syed Ghulam Hussain Shah Bukhari was killed while the spiritual leader himself and seven of his disciples suffered injuries when two bombs concealed under heaps of hay on a road exploded near his vehicle in Jacobabad. At least seven were injured when gunmen opened fire on a rally of the Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat (ASWJ) in Quetta. Gunmen on motorcycles attacked the crowd in the bazaar and escaped. Soon after the shooting, ASWJ leaders and workers staged a protest against the attack. Dawn
February 24: Parishioners force pastor to flee church and home
A pastor was forced to abandon his house and flee to escape blasphemy charges after some of his parishioners accused him of defiling the Bible. The pastor denied the charges and maintained that they were concocted by a local Christian family which bore a grudge against him.
