May 13: Sectarian violence claims the life of a religious leader in Karachi

Maulana Aslam Sheikhupuri, a religious scholar along with his driver were gunned down in an act of 'sectarian' killing in Karachi. Two guards of Sheikhupuri were also injured in the attack that occured near Rangoonwala Centre in the New Town Police Station area. Four armed men, riding two motorcycles, intercepted the car carrying Sheikhupuri, his guards and his driver and opened fire. A score of Sheikhupuri’s students and followers reached the hospital and shouted slogans against the rival sectarian group. Tensions also ensued in other parts of the city where armed men restored to aerial shooting. Daily Times

April 30: Girls school destroyed in Swabi

Militants planted explosives in a government-run girls’ primary school located in Mian Dheri area of Swabi, which partially damaged the school building. However, no casualty or injury was reported in the explosion as the building was vacant at the time of the incident. Daily times
May 1: Leader injured in sectarian attack in Larkana

The Shia Ulema leaders called for a three-day shutter down strike in Shadadkot to protest an attack on Shafqat Ali Harho Domki (Qambar District President of the Shia Ulema Council). Two men on a motorcycle intercepted Dhomki and fired at him from point blank range.  Dawn

April 27Girls' Primary school bombed in Landikotal

Unidentified militants bombed a makeshift girls’ school at Sheikhmal Khel Tehsil, sources informed. The building’s owner said female students had been shifted to the place after the destruction of the local government school. No casualties were reported. Security forces cordoned off the area and collected evidence from the site. Daily Times

April 27: Girls' school destroyed in Charsadda

Militants planted explosives near the main gate of a government girls’ primary school in the Minavara Matta Damaan area of Shabqadar, damaging the main gate and two classrooms of the school. An official from the education department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) said that the number of destroyed schools in Shabqadar has reached 94 with this blast. Express tribune

April 16 - 22

April 16: Hazara Shias attacked in Quetta

A shopkeeper belonging to the Hazara community, was killed and three others wounded in firing incidents in Quetta. The banned militant organization Lashkar-e-Jhangvi claimed responsibility for the attacks. Police officials informed that unidentified armed men on a motorcycle opened fire at a tyre shop located on Kanwari Road of Quetta and say the incident appeared to be a case of sectarian targeted killing.

 In another incident, unidentified armed men opened fire on a vehicle carrying Hazara passengers near the Benazir Bhutto flyover in Quetta. Nobody was injured as the bullets only hit the wheels of the vehicle. According to reports, some 18 people belonging to the Hazara community have been killed in targeted sectarian attacks in parts of Quetta during the last 10 days. Pakistan Today Pakistan Today

April 16: Grenade attack kills student at Peshawar school

A student was killed and two others injured when unidentified armed men attacked Iqra Public School in Charganokaly on Charsadda Road. The two armed men were riding a motorcycle and threw a hand grenade inside the private school premises, informed police sources. The assailants managed to escape from the scene. Daily Times

April 9: Six Hazaras killed in Quetta sectarian attack

In another targeted attack on the Shia community, six ethnic Hazaras were shot dead by gunmen in Quetta. Police said some Hazara community members were sitting at a shop on Prince Road when gunmen on two motorbikes opened fire on them, killing six people on the spot and injuring two others. The attackers managed to escape soon after. Police and security forces cordoned off the area, while the casualties were shifted to Sandeman Hospital. The murders whipped up tension in the neighbourhood as people from the Shia community took to the streets to protest against the government and law enforcers. Protesters blocked Jinnah Road and forced shopkeepers to pull down shutters. (Express Tribune)

April 12: Three more Hazaras shot dead in Quetta

Three people belonging to the Hazara community were gunned down and another wounded in separate incidents of target killings in the provincial capital. According to police, unidentified assailants opened fire at a tea store on Shahrah-e-Iqbal, killing a man on the spot and injuring the owner of the store. The assailants managed to escape from the crime scene. The injured owner of the store was identified as Sakhi Dad. A few minutes after the incident, armed assailants attacked another shop on Archer Road, about half a kilometre from Shahrah-e-Iqbal. Noor Ali and Nor Ahmed, members of the Hazara community died on the spot as a result of indiscriminate firing. (Daily Times)
